20080525_innerleithen_curd_250sqNext weekend will see Round 5 of the Monster Energy and Hanford's Bike Hut NPS Downhill change venue from Carlton Bank to Innerleithen in Scotland on Saturday and Sunday the 21st of September 2008. With the North East seeing over a month's rainfall in one day, the finishing field at Carlton looks more like a lake than a race village.

With more  rainfall predicted, the organisers have no guarantees the field will dry up in time. They have therefore quickly moved the venue to Innerleithen, which is the U.Ks No1 destination for Downhill racing and is the most established of race venues, situated a stones throw from the picturesque town.

The chosen course is littered with rocks, exposed roots and ruts, to challenge the best of them. Add the tightly packed trees and steep twisting corners this is a technicians dream, for those with wide bars, watch your knuckles!

Parking, spectating and camping is always free at the NPS and the crew from Monster Energy will be providing their huge sound system and massive Wigwam for everyone to chill out in. Live timing and commentating along with several retailers and caterers on-site and a MTB film showing on the big screen Saturday night means this is a great weekend for the riders and spectators!
