Report

12-17 Novices: In a big field of 22 riders, Simon Booth had a great run riding unbeaten all the way to finals, but had to give best in that final to winner Aj Boardman and fellow semi winner Jake Broad.

18 plus Novice: Both Christian Hatcher and Paul Branton had fantastic runs through to the final, winning four heats each and then quarter and semi finals. Something had to give in the final and it was Christian who grabbed the glory, with Paul second.

Juvenile: A small but classy field of Juvenile riders produced some of the best racing of the day. The dominant force was BMX star Abbie Taylor who came through four motos and final unbeaten. Alex Metcalf was second.

Youth: Bernard Kerr looks pretty unbeatable these days in the Youth category and he duly steamrollered the opposition to take the win. However, behind him it's getting interesting with Sam Reynolds improving on his fourth at the first round with a second, whilst the Sheffield runner-up, Alex Godbold didn't even make the final.

Juniors: Tom Dowie is another rider who's apparently got the measure of the opposition and he took his second win of the series. James Goodwin overcame a couple of poor early motos to hit form later in the day and he took second in the final, as he had done at Sheffield.

Masters: Dave Garland made no mistakes again in the Masters' category, going unbeaten throughout the day and racking up his second win on the series. Darren Howarth was back on form, making his first final of the season and taking the runner-up slot. Aidan Bishop took the B final.

Senior: Dave Richardson as another 100% winner, taking the massive 32 rider Senior category with some precise and classy riding on the tricky Chicksands course. James Chadwick was the runner up.

Elite: The Elite category always produces some stunning racing, with higher speeds and closer margins leading to great entertainment. Scott Beaumont had begun the season with a third at the opening round, but with Dale Holmes and Lewis Lacey, his conquerers at Sheffield, not turning up, he was a hot favourite to take the win. Having said that, Martin Ogden was back in action and his clashes with Scott have been the highlight of recent 4-Cross elite racing in the UK.

As expected, Scott and Martin made the final along with the in-form Daniel Yeomans and Steve Taylor, another finalist from Sheffield. In the event it was Beaumont who took the win with a typically clean race, with Yeomans a great second and Taylor third.
