Substantial compensation has been recovered for Dr. Tony Flinn, CEO of Onyx Scientific, after he suffered a spinal injury in a horrific road accident that left him paraplegic.
Using the drive and determination that he displayed when setting up his company, which only months before his accident won the prestigious NE of England Small Business award, Tony threw himself into a programme of rehabilitation that saw him return to his work and to sport just months after his injury.
He was training for triathlons and was cycling on his bike at the time of the accident.
The prompt resolution of this claim, which concluded just 11 months after his accident, ensured that Tony could put the legal case behind him, and concentrate on forging ahead with his work and his family life.
Sue Bence, the partner from Leigh, Day & Co. who represented Tony, said "I have not seen in my experience before, someone so motivated and driven to achieve recovery despite such a significant injury. Tony’s achievements and the attitude that he has to his life, is an inspiration to those who have suffered a life changing injury and to those lawyers, who represent them."
