The railway crossing in Kirton Lane3rd April 2006

British Cycling member Paul Bell has succeeded in his claim against Network Rail after an incident on the 10 May at the railway crossing in Kirton Lane near Thorne. Paul was brought down on his bike due to a defect in the crossing's surface.

Network Rail eventually admitted liability and Paul was able to recover compensation relating to the fracture to his collar bone, significant loss of earnings and other losses.

Paul’s claim was supported and funded by British Cycling. He was represented by the cycling and sports injury team at Leigh Day & Co.
