Member Secures Injury Compensation And Consequential Losses
British Cycling member William Wright has successfully concluded his claim for personal injury compensation and consequential losses following a road traffic accident that occurred as he was cycling around the Beacon Roundabout in Cramlington on 13th July 2006.
The accident occurred as William cycled towards the second exit on the roundabout and a third party vehicle drove into the back of his bicycle. As a result of the impact, William was thrown from his bicycle and suffered soft tissue injuries to his cervical spine, right thigh and right calf.
Prior to the accident William had been looking forward to a cycling holiday in Lyons where he had planned to watch various stages of the Tour de France from the mountains. Unfortunately because of his injuries William was unable to cycle any stages, which was hugely disappointing. The agreed settlement included a claim for loss of enjoyment of this holiday.
We are pleased to confirm that William has recovered well from his injuries and he has resumed cycling.
William was represented by Anna Hart in Leigh Day & Co’s Cycling and Sports Injuries Team.
William’s claim was supported and funded by British Cycling.
