Personal Injury Compensation Secured For Member
British Cycling member, Craig Harris, has successfully concluded his claim for personal injury compensation and consequential losses further to a road traffic accident he was involved in on 18th June 2006.
Craig was taking part in the annual London to Brighton Bike Ride, a charity event on behalf of the British Heart Foundation. He was cycling toward Brighton in a designated, coned off, bicycle lane. A negligent motorist, who suddenly cut across the bicycle lane, in an attempt to turn left, knocked him off his bicycle.
Craig suffered a serious break to his collarbone and several fractured ribs.
An experienced and competitive cyclist, Craig was hoping to take part in the L’Etape du Tour, shortly after the accident, however due to his injury, he was unfortunately unable to compete in this event.
Fortunately, Craig has now almost made a full recovery, although he does still suffer occasional symptoms, which may be permanent.
Craig was represented by Nichola Marshall in the cycling and sports injuries team at Leigh Day & Co. His claim was supported and funded by British Cycling.
