Claim Success for Member

British Cycling member, David Brown, has successfully concluded his claim for personal injury compensation, consequential losses and expenses arising from a road traffic accident which he was involved in on 13th February 2007.

At the time of the accident David was cycling with a fellow British Cycling member on a roundabout situated at the junction of the A4155 and A404 slip road.

The third party failed to notice David and his cycling companion, who were in a marked cycle lane, as they passed the slip road and subsequently failed to stop at the give way line, driving into collision with both cyclists.

Following the incident David was taken to Ashford Hospital where he was diagnosed with whiplash and other soft tissue injuries. Significant damage was also sustained to David’s bicycle and cycling kit.

Liability was admitted by the defendant within the protocol period and damages were subsequently agreed between the parties.

David was represented by Anna Hart of Leigh Day & Co’s Cycling & Sports Injuries Team and his claim was funded and supported by British Cycling.
