Six months to the annual 5th Dragon Ride and entries are filling up fast and organiser Lou Lusardi is pleased with the response to the new website entry system. In a little over 10 days Lusardi has received over 1,500 entries, a clear indication that the event is growing fast.

However people still wishing to enter the Dragon ride need not panic. The maximum number of entries this year is set at 3,000, an increase of 750 from last year. The event, which first ran in 2003 with just over 250 entries, has grown at a steady and sustainable rate since then and the new website www.dragonride.co.uk has ushered in a new era of effective entry processing.

So far the 5th anniversary Dragon Ride has attracted entries from as far away as China and the United States and Lusardi is hoping to make this year's event will be the most international so far.

In Early March he will travel to the Cape Argus Pick 'n' Pay Cycle Tour in South Africa, at the invitation of the organisers, to promote his South Wales ride. Lusardi himself will be riding the Argus for the 3rd time and will be visiting other Golden Bike events in 2008 in an ongoing aim of achieving international status for the Dragon Ride in the future.

The Dragon Ride to be held on the 15th June will also feature a new official jersey, designed and produced by top Belgian clothing manufacturer BioRacer and distributed on behalf of the event by Onimpex UK. The newly styled jersey has returned to its Welsh roots and is now green and red, featuring a Welsh Dragon motif.

People wishing to buy the jersey in time to ride it on 15th June 2008 can order from either the Dragon Ride website or from Onimpex UK website at £42.50.

Riders who have already entered the event can still order this top quality memento of their participation in the Dragon Ride by ordering direct from Onimpex UK.
