UPDATE: Latest from Tim Buckle - "I just want to make it really clear that the birth years that have been outlined for Mallory on the 28th are not flexible - boundaries have to laid out folks! Please please do not bring riders who are too young on the day and put me in the uncomfortable and unpleasant position of enforcing the rules."

Details

Tim Buckle, Olympic Talent Programme Development Coach, is very excited about the forthcoming Mallory Park training day on Tuesday 28th October.

Here we go again folks.  I have only just got my breath back from August but I bet you guys are all chomping at the bit to get stuck in again.

The Olympic Talent Programme is staging another training day for all you Youth riders.  It will be on the 28th October and we will again be at Mallory Park Motor Racing Circuit in Leicestershire.  The date has been worked so it fits in the majority of you guys half term holidays.

For this one we are not only going to offer the road session but if you are wanting a taster of some MTB XC or you are already an MTB racer we are offering a mint MTB session which will be lead by Stuart Blunt with the help of a selection of  expert coaches and riders.  As with other days, you have to make the choice between one or the other you can not dip in and out over the day.

The Talent Team offer is an open invitation to youth A, B & C category riders (guys born between 1992 and 1997) to take part in the full day of coached activities.  We also want to show our support to you junior girls by opening up the invitation to this category as we see this as an area of cycling that needs further and continued development.  All abilities are welcome but as the day shall offer structured, road / circuit and MTB XC race based coaching sessions tailored to suit all the different age's, riders must be on the right equipment as follows:

Mountain bikes only for the MTB XC session

Road bikes for road session

Hey riders, let's make sure you are on your age category gear restriction on the road.  Please make every effort to sort this folks you are proving nothing and just hindering your progress!!.

The day is designed simply to give riders the chance to experience a group coaching session and learn or refine some road and MTB racing skills.

The day will get underway at 10.30am, and will incorporate a variety of skills and race based activities and come expecting to get stuck into some race events. The training will end at by 4:30pm (4pm for some groups of riders). As with all the Mallory sessions, the Talent Programme is covering all of the running costs, so the day is again completely free of charge!  How mint is that!!!!!!!!!!

If you are interested in attending, please register by Friday 17th October by sending an email to: AlisonJohnson@britishcycling.org.uk with your name, date of birth and your club (if you are in one).  Important note: You will need to tell us whether you want to do road or MTB on the day, there will not be an opportunity to cross over between the two disciplines, guys.  After this, you will then be sent further details of the day together with a parental consent form that must be completed and brought with you on the day for you to take part.

CALLING ALL COACHES!

British cycling qualified coaches looking to expand coaching experience are also welcome to attend and check out what is going and hopefully take away some good ideas to roll out at your club sessions.  You guys have the future in your hands and it is our responsibility to help you be as good as you can. If you are up for this please send an email to register as above.

Come on guys lets have it!!
