Twenty-Two Places for GB Track Team at Olympics
News Posted: 21 April 2008
The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has confirmed that there are 22 places available for the Great Britain Cycling Team at the Beijing Olympics.
In total, 188 places for 153 men and 35 women have been awarded to 34 different countries.
Seven of Great Britain's places are 'non-transferable' spots for riders who took gold medals at the recent World Track Championships in Manchester, although this does not guarantee a place on Great Britain's cycling team for the Olympics. The full team will be announced by the British Olympic Association on 14 July.
