Junior Women 500m TT
After fourth place in the Sprint competition the day before, Jess Varnish came to the line hungry for a medal and didn’t disappoint herself, her father watching in the stands or her Great Britain coaches when she recorded the second fastest time of 36.665 to win a Silver medal. Dani King meanwhile was 11th with a 39.322.
Jessica Varnish: “I was really up for this tonight and had to get back at them for yesterday. I haven’t done much preparation for the 500 as its not an Olympic event now. I got myself a good start to get on top of the gear and I was careful getting out of the gate and the rest of it went pretty good. It was all pretty much of a blur to be honest. My dad and old coach (Nick) came tonight that so was good.”
A silver medal for Jess Varnish.
