Evening Session
GB's Under 23 Team Pursuit riders blitz their rivals in dominant fashion to win GOLD whilst Jess Varnish wins her first European Championship medal after taking silver in the Junior Women's 500m TT. David Daniel and Jason Kenny move closer to the medals in the Sprint competition for Junior and Under 23 Men.
Morning Session
It was a good morning session for Great Britain with most of the riders in action, dominating their events. In the Team Pursuit for Under 23’s, the GB quartet did a 4.12.890 to the 4.18.946 of the next team, Russia. In the Junior Men’s Sprint, David Daniell was fastest and Christian Lyte 5th fastest in qualifying of the two riders, only Daniell made it through to the second round.
There was drama in the Junior Men’s Points race qualifiers when Adam Blythe crashed with three laps to go but luckily had amassed enough points to go through in sixth place with 12 to qualify. In the other heat, Andrew Fenn gained a lap and went through in 9th place. The other event featuring British riders was the 3k Pursuit for Under 23 Women. In this, GB entered both Hannah Mayho and Nikki Harris. Hannah, in her first ever 3k Pursuit and riding up a category, was 13th whilst Nikki finished 8th.
