Day 1 Home Page
It was a sunny morning for qualifying rounds but during the break, the rain came and how ... After a small dry spell, the rain returned for the rest of the evening but racing continued thanks to the roof over the track.
Day 1 of the European Track Championships saw the Great Britain Cycling team win one Gold, one Silver and one Bronze medal to cap off a mixed day. The Gold medal came in the Junior Team Pursuit where the GB team had to fight off a determined challenge from the French to win that event. The Silver medal came in the Junior Team Sprint when they narrowly went down to the French in the final whilst the Bronze medal was won by Steven Burke who was the fastest loser in the Semi Finals and takes the bronze medal without having to do another ride.
