Triple world champion Victoria Pendleton in action in the Keirin
Afternoon Session: Victoria Pendleton signed off with her third gold medal of the championships, winning the Keirin in the most convincing manner imaginable. That meant a spectacular final tally of seven gold medals for the team.
Earlier Chris Hoy had made it six golds with another awesome performance in the Kilo Time Trial. He once again overcame the pressure of going off last to overhaul the time of Frenchman Prancois Pervis and claim his fourth world title in the discipline. There was also a bonus bronze medal for Jamie Staff in his first competitive Kilo for several years.
In the men's sprint, Craig MacLean couldn't quite match Frenchman Bourgain and finished fourth, whilst Theo Bos retained his title in fine style. In the Madison, Marvulli and Risi took the title for the Swiss, whilst Wiggins and Hayles finsihed 13th.
Morning session: Victoria Pendleton and Anna Blyth both went through to the second round of the Women's Keirin, whilst Craig MacLean had to settle for a place in the ride off for Bronze in the Men's sprint after being knocked out by his conquerer in last year's final, Theo Bos.
