The Great Britain sprint team came up trumps in Los Angeles again on day 3 with Chris Hoy picking up his second Gold of the event when he joined with Jamie Staff and Matthew Crampton to win the Team Sprint whilst three other Brits riding in Science in Sport colours, took the bronze with Jason Kenny, Ross Edgar and Jason Queally.
In the other events of the day, there was a 13th place for the Great Britain pairing of the Jonny Bellis and Ross Sander in the Madison after they qualified with 6th in their heat whilst Kate Cullen, riding for Recycling, rode the Womens Scratch where she was 13th in the final (4th in her heat). Although there were no Gold medals on Day 2, Great Britain riders again showed they were amongst the best in the World with two more medals and near medal performances from riders hardly out of the Junior ranks.
Former World Points champion Chris Newton (pictured) won a Silver medal in the Points whilst Ross Edgar beat three times Junior World Champion and teammate Jason Kenny for a Bronze in the Sprint. In the Team Pursuit, the Academy team went close to a medal but had to settle with a fourth place, a fine performance for these up and coming riders. Read More >>>>

Two Gold and a Silver made day 1 a great day out for the British riders in round 3 of the 2006/07 UCI World Track Cup Competition in Los Angeles.
Whilst a Gold for Chris Hoy in the Mens Keirin (along with a Silver for Ross Edgar) was a great result for the Olympic champion, the big surprise was the win by Russell Hampton in the Scratch race where he won the race by a clear lap!. Read More >>>>
