Final
No medals for GB in this race after a clash between Nikki Harris and another rider saw the Derbyshire rider lose half a lap. The chase to regain the group left her gased for the final sprint for the silver and bronze medals after the Gold was taken by the Italian Baccaille when she took a lap solo.
With 26 laps to go of her race, Nikki was involved in a move or two off the front after a number of other attacks had been nullified by the bunch. The time off the front though was short lived and it wasn't until an Italian rider Baccaille attacked from the top of the banking and gapped the bunch, that something promising started to develop. The move by her though was the only one to succeed and after a long chase, the Italian finally managed to get her lap to assure her of the win.
In the bunch meanwhile, Nikki Harris clashed with some other riders and the impact knocked her foot from the pedals and she had to slow right down to get it back in. By this time she had lost half a lap and for a short while, was working with the Italian leader who at that time was still chasing to lap the field.
The commissaires however told Nikki to drop back but she still managed to get back to the field with 6 to go although the chase did take a lot out of her and in the final sprint for the line, Nikki was unable to show off the sprint she has and finished well down and out of the medals.
Bunch sprint in the final.
The Italian winner in her attack that no-one could do a thing about.
Nikki after clashing with another rider and pulling a foot out, links up with the eventual winner to get back on to the group but was ordered to drop back to avoid helping the Italian gain the lap she did anyway.

Followed by one from a Belarusian.
Heats
Riding for GB was Nikki Harris who qualified for the final after a fairly uneventful race where a few of the riders took a lap to ensure their place and then the rest, including Nikki, took their chances in the final sprint. With lap board into single figures, the riders at the back were moving underneath to make their way to the front, pushing those already there back and you had this bunch rotating around at the top of the track for lap after lap. Nikki meanwhile positioned herself on the outside but as the lined thinned out, found herself on the inside, boxed in but still managed to finished 8th.
