Gold and bronze for Jason Kenny and Christian Lyte in the Junior Men's Sprint.
Day 4 of the European Championships and the Great Britain riders did the country proud in a championship event that is every bit as competitive as a World Championship or World Track. Jason Kenny was superb in the Junior Mens sprint, recording times quicker than the Under 23's on his way to a Gold medal and just to underline how special our young sprint squad is, Christian Lyte won the bronze medal.
Then, in the Under 23 Mens Scratch race, Ben Swift and Geraint Thomas were awesome in a race that was the best spectacle so far with attack after attack. And if having an entertaining race wasn't enough for us, Geraint Thomas added to his Gold medal in the Team Pursuit with a Silver medal in the event tonight.
There were many other super rides that didn't get a medal like in the Junior Womens Points race, Lizzie Armitstead went close to a medal, scoring the same number of points as the Silver and Bronze medallists but losing out on a count back based on the final sprint.
Anna Blyth had another fourth place for this championships, this time in the Women's Keirin, Lucy Ayres another top 10 whilst Nikki Harris rode her heart out in the Womens Points race without anything to show for it. Finally, the day all began with two superb performances from Russell Hampton and Alex Dowsett in the Junior Pursuit.
A Silver medal for Geraint Thomas to go with his Gold in the Team Pursuit.
