The podium in full with the Brits centre stage...

Final

In brief, after the Greek team kept the Brits on the line for ages when they couldn't get one of their bikes in the starting gate, Jason Kenny false started but next time round, the Brits were in a class of their own and took the title with a great show.

Rider Reactions

Christian Lyte: "I can't believe it, its amazing. The false start put us off a bit but I tried to keep it together and the first lap seemed to go well. The hard work we've done for this has been worth it".

Jason Kenny "The ride went okay. It felt like we were being messed about on the start and I think that got me to a little bit when I jumped the gun but the second one went perfectly. The start felt really smooth. The last few weeks, this has really come together. We only decided a few weeks ago who was riding and we've gone out and taken a second off our PB. I can't argue with that."

David Daniell: "Its magnificent. It's a good feeling. Having been a national champion and now this, its unbelievable. The atmosphere is really good and helps psyche you up. I just wanted to come here and give it my all and see where I end up and winning this is a class feeling."

Qualifying

When it was the turn of the Team Sprint (Christain Lyte, Jason Kenny and David Daniell) to ride they didn't disappoint their coach Iain Dyer, with a 46.327, half a second up on the next best team, home nation Greece with 46.896.

Asked if it was national record, the National Sprint coached quipped, if there is, their time certainly smashes any previous best with them doing a high 47 in Gent earlier in the year the next best by the young junior sprinters who all appeared quite relaxed in as they waited for their time to rock up and ride.
