British Cycling's Larry Hickmott reports
2006 World Track Championships
Britain's Nikki Harris finished 20th in this event. During the race, Nikki was part of a select group of riders that gained a lap around the 55 lap mark but having gained it, Nikki then started to suffer. She did try one last time to get away to get some points to put her amongst the contenders but after three laps of freedom, the bunch caught her and then a little later, when the hammer went down again, Nikki lost contact and lost the lap she had gained, finishing the race in 20th place.
Vera Carrara (Italy) on her way to winning the Points title.
