Home Nations for Commonwealth Games
In Australia to ride the World Road Cup and the Commonwealth Games Road Race is Charlotte Goldsmith. So far the year has been quite traumatic for the GB rider after her partner's father, Maurice Broadbent, was killed in the tragedy that happened in North Wales at the start of the year.
Charlotte admits to not being nervous yet as the Games draw ever closer, adding, "I'm just getting into the World Cup races before hand, so I'm a bit nervous about them".
Charlotte travelled to Australia in February and has been able to take advantage of the weather and also welcomes having the World Cups prior to the Games which will give her some world class racing. Charlotte started her racing in Geelong and then headed for New Zealand where she competed in a stage race and World Cup road race.
Find her feet after the long flight, 'Goldy' says being away from home has enabled her to focus on what she is here to do and with GB looking after her, all she has to worry about is riding her bike and resting. We wish Charlotte lots of luck for the races she is doing in Australia.
