Gracing the backs of the champions in the Isle of Man cycling team will be colourful jerseys from Prendas Ciclismo (www.prendas.co.uk) and Santini Maglificio Sportivo (www.santinisms.it) who were commissioned to create the Team Isle of Man official jersey for the 2006 Commonwealth Games. The jersey pictured right will be worn by top road sprinter and current world madison champion Mark Cavendish among others in the team.
The suppliers of the jersey explained that with the Isle of Man team being one of the smaller squads at the Games, the jersey is an example of the Santini Semi-Custom programme where only 15 pieces have to be created with no artwork costs. Whilst Santini also supply the home favourites Australia with their kit, they are keen to show off their flexible and cost effective solution for smaller clubs and teams. Prendas have also supplied the team with their popular Coolmax socks with a choice of colours for each rider.
