Visa Paralympic World Cup (Cycling)
May 5th, 2006; Manchester, (National Cycling Centre)
Report and photos by Larry Hickmott (larryhickmott@britishcycling.org.uk)
It was a memorable night in many ways at the Manchester Velodrome on Friday night. On one hand, all the riders in the Great Britain Team performed brilliantly with either World or British Records to their name during the night. On the other, all the riders from around the World showed yet again how doubly talented they are not only for over coming a disability but also showing great athletic ability on the track.

It was a record breaking evening inside the National Cycling Centre at Manchester and many of those were set by riders from the Great Britain Team. Barney Storey and Anthony Kappes broke the World Kilometre record for their category to add to the one they broke during the afternoon. Darren Kenny broke the kilometre record in his category as well as did Ellen Hunter and Aileen McGlynn.
To round off a great night, the Team Sprint lads did the same and for those in the GB team that didn't break World records, they had the consolation of breaking national ones instead. It was quite a night! Read More >>>>
