Round 12 Eastern Cyclo-Cross League

Despite some confusion in the pages of Cycling Weekly as to the venue of the 12th round of the Eastern Cyclo-Cross League, a healthy entry of over 100 riders turned up for the event.
Ian Newby was the runaway winner of the Senior and Junior race, coming in over 2 minutes clear of Andy Nichols, with Richard Dunnett just a further second back in third. Tom Castle was the first Junior home in a fine 5th place.
Gary Allan dominated the Vets' race, with over half a minute to spare over Julian Parker, who had Gavin Rumbles hard on his heels in third place. Bruce Robinson was the first over-50 home in 6th place, with Rachel Moss taking the women's category in 13th place, less than a lap down.
In the Under-12 race, Archie Wishart had a handful of seconds over runner up Sam Titmarsh by the finish. However, Youth winner Hugo Humphreys had the closest win of the day, having only a second to spare over Taylor Johnstone after a race-long battle during which they left the rest of the field far behind.
