Youth go-ride interclub race report

With 64 youth riders signed in spanning u10-Youth cyclo-cross age categories and 9 British Cycling Go-Ride youth development clubs being represented from across the South East competing (that's got to be a record?!), it was great competition. It followed a coaching programme at the venue on the previous day Saturday, run by John Scripps SE Go-Ride Coach. In all 178 riders were at Stanmer today with 114 in the adults event.
The event was promoted by Brighton Excelsior and their youth development section VC Jubilee. The event was a combined London Cyclocross League event #9 and Sussex Cyclocross League event #2, and a South East Go-Ride Interclub Competition #3. So well done to all that took part, a much drier event than last year - like a lot drier!!
At the event the SE Go-Ride clubs represented were the promoting club VC Jubilee (Brighton Excelsior Youth Development) along with Preston Park Youth Cycling Club, VC Londres, VC Deal, Go-Ride Bexley, Team Darenth, Sutton CC, Herne Hill YCC, In-Gear youth development squad. The competition as HOT!
Many thanks to members of Brighton Excelsior CC, VC Jubilee parents and young volunteers (also some from Preston Park YCC too) for course set up, judging, marshalling, results, cake makers, bacon buttie/hot dog making, soup making and tea/coffee making etc. We hope all riders, parents and supporters had a good day, enjoyed the course, and showed your appreciation to all those that make this event possible, which is done in their "own spare time".
