Rider Profiles

Dave Frith (Filton) Dave was a member of Edinburgh Falcons British Veterans Club Championship winning side in 2007. He is an experienced international rider and recently top scored for his new side Filton in the final of this season's British Veterans Club Championship.

Nathan Groves (Birmingham) Nathan made his International debut in the first leg of this year's Celtic Cup, scoring a brilliant 17 points on his first visit to Norwich's Eaton Park circuit. He followed that up by winning the British Under 19 Club Championship with Birmingham last month.

Mikey Hewitson (Bury) Mikey made his International debut in the 2005 running of this event, scoring an excellent 13 points as Scotland finished a close second to England. He finished third in the British Under 16 Indoor final that same year and after a couple of seasons riding for Bury he returned north to captain the Edinburgh Falcons in 2009.

Richard Hunt (Norwich) Richard returned to the Scotland side for the 2008 Home International after a number of years in the International wilderness. He scored a vital 8 points in the first leg of this year's Celtic Cup and will be hoping to repeat that performance on home soil.

Neil McPherson (Edinburgh) 'Archie' made his International debut in the 2008 Home International and followed that up with an appearance in the 2008 European Nations Team Cup final. He was also a key member of Edinburgh Falcons victorious Northern KO Cup side.

Craig Newsome (Edinburgh) Craig finished 11th in the 2005 World Final in Australia and was Scotland's top scorer in the 2008 European Nations Team Cup final. He has raced regularly in the Premier League for Stoke, Wednesfield and Astley & Tyldesley.

Jake Slight (Edinburgh) Jake made his International debut in the 2008 running of this event and acquitted himself well against much more experienced opposition. He has enjoyed a good start to the 2009 season and has a very bright future ahead of him.

Pete Young (Poole) Pete is by some margin the most successful Scottish rider of the modern era having made ten appearances in the final of the British Individual Championship. He was crowned British Champion at Leicester in 1997 and finished runner up at Bury in 2001.
