Big Week for Astley & Tyldesley Series

This week sees the start of two series organised by Astley & Tyldesley Cycle Speedway Club this season. On Wednesday evening, the Club stages the first of this year's Off Road Leisure Rides. All club members, family, friends and any other interested riders are welcome to participate in a ride on their own bikes along the tracks radiating from Gin Pit. The rides will last for around 1 hour. Riders are to meet at the cycle speedway track at the Astley & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare Club, Meanley Road, Gin Pit, Astley, Gt. Manchester. M29 7DW.

2009 Gin Pit Off Road Leisure Ride Dates

Wednesday 15th April at 7 pm
Wednesday 13th May at 7 pm
Sunday 31st May at 2 pm, followed by a Barbecue
Wednesday 17th June at 7 pm
Wednesday 15th July at 7 pm
Wednesday 12th August at 7 pm
Sunday 4th October at 2 pm

On Sunday afternoon, the Club stages the first round of this year's North West Go-Race Grand Prix series. This series caters for young and inexperienced riders, in providing an introduction to competitive racing at Gin Pit. A & T's junior riders, plus any other interested newcomers are invited to compete. Bikes and helmets are available for hire. There are six rounds in total, to be staged after the completion of each of A & T's home Northern League matches this season. The cycle speedway track is located at the Astley & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare Club, Meanley Road, Gin Pit, Astley, Gt. Manchester. M29 7DW.
