British Team Champs - Quarter-Final Draw

News Posted: 16 June 2008

The draw for the quarter finals of the British Team Championship was made last week and is as follows:

Great Blakenham v Hull
Leicester v Sandwell
Sheffield v Norwich
Wednesfield v Birmingham

The matches will take place on Sunday 6th July at 3:00 pm.

The three non-Premier League teams in the draw - Hull, Sandwell, and Birmingham - were all drawn away, making it a tough ask to reach the last four, although the ineligibility of the Premier teams' overseas and secondary riders will somewhat level the playing field. Birmingham, with Wadhams, Winwood and Timms, may give Wednesfield a hard battle, but the experience of Wednesfield's supporting cast is likely to rule the day.

The hardest fixture to call is the all-Premier Sheffield v Norwich tie. Sheffield will be without the services of their Polish stars, but have some promising youngsters coming through, whereas Norwich have progressed from a solid East Anglian base which will surely reap dividends at some stage - perhaps here.

The four winners will progress to the semi-finals, to be contested at Ipswich in September.
