Under-19 Podium: Joshua Brooke(Great Blakenham), Chris Timms (Birmingham Monarchs), Tom Haddock(Wednesfield Aces)
At the national Under-19 Cycle Speedway championships, high temperatures from the weather and on the track gave the crowd some frantic racing from the first heat to a run off between Chris Timms(Birmingham Monarchs) and Tom Haddock(Wednesfield Aces.
Tight racing from all the riders and very few crashs resulted in some brilliant racing throughout the meeting and Tom Haddock rode beyond his years to secure 4 wins from his first 4 heats and an almost garanteed 2008 title. However, an uncharacteristic ride in his final heat resulted in a 3rd place and a tied point score with Timms.
A fall by Haddock in the run off allowed Timms to roll in and claim the 2008 U19 Individual Championship title.
