New Date for Track Coaching Course
Course Dates: April - Sept 2008
British Cycling has announced that it has added another Level 2 Track Coaching course at Manchester Velodrome to its popular programme.
The additional course, which is the result of a partnership between British Cycling Coaching and Education and the Manchester Velodrome, will take place on 26 and 27 April 2008.
Aimed at coaches new to the track environment, as well as current track coaches who want to develop their existing knowledge and skills, the Level 2 Track Coaching Award was the first of six discipline specific qualifications to be launched. It is a pre-requisite to the new Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Track Cycling, which is set to be launched within the next month.
Manchester Velodrome cycling manager Bob Barber said: "Hosting the Level 2 Track Award in Manchester is an excellent opportunity not only for coaches to advance their knowledge of track coaching, but will also give them the training that will allow them to become an accredited Manchester Velodrome Coach."
Bob added: "We are keen to increase our coaching base at the Velodrome and are also hoping to attract more female coaches. If you are an existing coach who is interested in coaching on the track please get in contact with British Cycling to book on an available course."
