Level 2 Track Coaching Award
The Level 2 Track Coaching Award is aimed at coaches new to the track environment, as well as current track coaches who want to develop their existing knowledge and skills. The knowledge gained from this award will allow you to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of safe, ethical and effective track sessions. The award will also give you all the knowledge and information you need to progress riders from their first session on a track up to their first competition. This award is the minimum requirement for the delivery of Go-Ride Track Gears 5 and 6.

What will I learn?
This is a 2-day course which is composed of five compulsory modules:
Day 1:
- Environment
- Equipment
- Techniques
- Planning Progressive Sessions
- Getting Involved
Day 2 includes a practical assessment and individual reviews.
Assessment
The assessment of the Level 2 Track Coaching Award has three components:
- Observation of practical coaching
- Written assessment task
- Practical coaching experience log
Am I eligible to attend?
Yes, you can attend the Level 2 Track Coaching Award if:
- You have attended a Club Coach, Activity Coach or Level 2 Certificate Coaching Cycling and successfully completed all aspects of the assessment.
- You have a minimum of a valid Appointed Persons First Aid certificate.
- You are enthusiastic about getting people active and involved in track cycling.
- Present a valid enhanced CRB check. If British Cycling have not undertaken a CRB on you within 12 months of your last course then they will undertake one on your behalf.
Do I need to bring anything to the course?
Coaches are required to supply their own fixed wheel track bike, helmet, gloves and appropriate clothing for taking part in the 'Practical Assessment'. Bikes used in the session should be in good working order. If you are unable to take part in this session for any reason (e.g. illness, no bike or helmet) please inform Coaching and Education prior to the course so that alternative arrangements can be made to involve you in the activities.
