Coaching is at the heart of cycling performance at every level from teaching basic bike handling skills in a school or club through to training athletes for the Olympic Games or Tour de France.  The coaching courses available from British Cycling will allow you to achieve your coaching goals; coaching at the level and in the discipline you want.

Activity Coach Award for Teachers

The Activity Coach Award for Teachers (ACAT) is a British Cycling coaching course aimed at all Primary and Secondary School teachers that wish to develop cycling in their school.  British Cycling recognises that, with Qualified Teacher Status, teachers already possess many of the skills and knowledge necessary to become great cycling coaches.

Many Cycling Teachers who have already attended the ACAT course have gone on to introduce cycling into their schools in both lesson time and as an extra curricular activity.  Some have also secured funding for developing cycling in their schools, included cycling in their School Travel Plans and established British Cycling Go-Ride School Clubs.
