Glorious Racing At Goodwood

For the first Inter-Club event of the new season 31 youth riders signed in spanning U’8- U’16 age categories and 3 British Cycling Go-Ride Clubs being represented from across the South East. The racing was Glorious at Goodwood, with fantastic weather and great competition.
The event was all organised by VC Jubilee’s young volunteer Ben Miller who’s just 18, and it was his first promotion, if he can organise the weather again he can organise all future races! The event was a combined Surrey League event, and a South East Go-Ride Inter-Club Competition. So if you are a youth in another club you’ll still get your position overall in the league results, see www.surreyleague.co.uk . This was a marvellous achievement from a young volunteer to organise a whole event. Promotion of the event will have developed skills such as organisation and communication that will all sit well on a young person’s C.V. Well done Ben and well done top all the young people who took part.
At the 2.4m/3.8km (approx) smooth circuit South East Go-Ride clubs represented were the promoting club VC Jubilee (Brighton Excelsior Youth Development) along with Preston Park Youth Cycling Club, and VC Londres. Some names new top the British Cycling Go-Ride Team scored some success showing how the Go-Ride coaching in the clubs has helped them progress. Names such as Cory Anderson, Megan Lewis and Gabriel Parle.
