More Go-Ride Games have been confirmed with more young people experiencing an Olympic themed cycle event at their local Go-Ride Cycling Club. To participate in your local event please see the list below for your nearest club hosting the Go-Ride Games.
11th August 2008 Colchester Rovers Cycling Club, Eastern
The Colchester Rovers Olympics held at the Colchester United Community Association area on Boadicea Way in Colchester will be based around cyclo-cross. Young people will experience a cyclo-cross madison, a team sprint and a pursuit event to mirror the events that British riders have traditionally done well in. Each rider will be racing for a country and recreating the multinational feeling of the Olympics.

11th August 2008 Newcastle Track Cycling Association, West Midlands
Newcastle Track Cycling Association are delivering track cycling activities at the Newcastle Under Lyme Velodrome on Lilleshall Road. The velodrome holds the best chances of success for Team GB in Beijing and in the first week of the Olympic Games any youngsters attending this scheme will be able to learn techniques and race skills in the track sprint and pursuit races like the stars of the GB team Bradley Wiggins, Victoria Pendleton and Chris Hoy.
12th & 13th August 2008 Spalding CC, East Midlands
Spalding’s 2 day event at the Castle Sports Complex on Albion Street in Spalding will involve some grass track, BMX and Mountain Biking along with other fun games so that everyone can get a fell for Olympic racing. 13th August 2008 Guernsey Velo, South
Just off mainland UK Guernsey Velo will be supporting the British Cyclists in Beijing and helping encourage the islands budding young racers to get involved. At Delancey Park in Guernsey over 65 young people are expected to compete in an Olympic Omnium. In the Olympic Omnium young racers will experience racing in many different Olympic style cycling races such as pursuits and road racing on a closed circuit. The day will also have a Chinese theme to mirror the host nation.

14th August 2008 Peebles CC, Scotland
One of the greatest cyclists ever to race the velodromes of the World is Chris Hoy and as he vies for a second Olympic Gold in Beijing his compatriots in Scotland will be doing their best to emulate his deeds. Peebles CC are allowing young people to deliver as much power through the pedals as Chris Hoy does by racing in a dirt crit race. Chris Hoy described in Heroes Villains and Velodromes book how he used to race mountain bikes and if that doesn't inspire the youngsters, Peebles have arranged for some members of the Olympic Talent Team Mountain Bikers to join the event and show everyone the skills that will make them Olympic stars of the future.

13th & 26th August 2008 Tiverton BMX Club, South West
Between 4 and 6pm new riders can have total access to the BMX track then afterwards they can race with other users. Along with the Olympic themed T-shirts medals will be awarded with the 2 events sandwiching the Olympics, Tiverton have an excellent opportunity to promote the sport and gain new members because they can highlight the fun of the sport to new members then the riders can try and emulate the powerful rides of Shanaze Reade and Liam Phillips.

16th August, Johnstone Jets, Scotland
Johnstone Jets will be hosting a Multidisciplinary Go-Ride Olympiad between 9:45 and 11:30am at the Linwood Sports Centre just west of Glasgow. The races willl include Road, Mountain Biking, Pursuiting and BMX racing on traffic free facilities. Teams will be organised into nations competing at the Games and racing over the the several disciplines will surely create a deserving Go-Ride Olympiad Champion.

16th August 2008 Bolton Hot Wheels, North West
Come the 16th August the Olympics will be in full swing and Bolton Hot Wheels have been inspired by the Olympic Rings and Colours to deliver a colourful and imaginative event with many races for over 30 young people. With these large numbers due to attend this Olympic themed event at Queens Park in Bolton between 10 and 12pm.

16th August 2008 Chester Road Club, North West
Chester Road Club regularly hold Mountain Bike sessions for young people so they can learn skills in an off road, traffic free environment. Now, during the Olympics a new session is being delivered between 12 and 1pm at Wealstone Lane Playing Fields in Chester. For £1 the club will give young riders a goodie bag along with the Olympic themed T-Shirts and free use of a helmet for each rider.

16th August 2008 Cleveland Wheelers, North East
The 16th August is the busiest day of the Go-Ride Olympiad and Cleveland Wheelers have added to the body of events by delivering their own event in the North East. Albert Park in Middlesbrough is the venue for the Go-Ride Clubmark club's Olympiad. Young people can get involved in grass track events such as pursuit, sprints and other events that Team GB expect to be successful in this summer.

Go-Ride Olympiads are spreading across the country and now Bristol Cycling Development Squad are hosting another in the South. This event will begin with some Mountain Bike coaching followed by a short course time trial. Much like a prologue in a major stage race the short course time trial will sort out the riders who then will be organised into equal teams. Those teams will then race a Mountain Bike relay to determine the Go-Ride Olympiad Champions.

24th August 2008 Kettering CC Central
Kettering CC have fully immersed themselves into the Olympic Spirit as they host a inter sport Olympiad at Wicksteed Park. Riders will be able to race an Olympic omnium as they compete in the Olympic Sprint, Pursuit and Mountain Bike races before pitting their wits against the gymnasts and Athletics competitors at their own sports.

26th August & 2nd, 9th 16th September 2008 Welland Valley Whizz Kids, West Midlands
The most events are being hosted by the Welland Valley Whizz Kids whose series of events are bound to promote coniued participation of any new members. Each event will focus on a different discipline with the order of events being Road Race, Mountain Biking, Time Trial and Sprints on the 16th August, 2nd, 9th and 16th September respectively.

30th August Mid Shropshire Wheelers, West Midlands
Mid Shropshire Wheelers are being really creative as they provide volunteers that will really recreate the international nature of the Games. This is because young people will be separated into teams with each team having their own "Team Manager" that will help them plan strategies and understand the different races that they will find in the Olympic disciplines covered at the event. Races such as the Team Sprint, Time Trials and skills tests.

6th September 2008 Redditch Road & Path Club, West Midlands
After the Olympics, there will be many people enthused by the Olympic Games and wanting to do more cycling. In September Redditch Road & Path Club will be hosting an Olympic themed fun day in Shrewsbury Leisure Village for club members and newcomers to try Olympic themed cycling activities.
The club is very active and are a Go-Ride Clubmark Club. The colours, rings, and international flavour of the Games will be reflected in the skills training and racing making this an ideal event to follow up the Games with in Shrewsbury.

Previous articles have described how The Go-Ride team is supporting the club that are hosting Go-Ride activities with free Olympic T-Shirts to distribute at their event. Many clubs have not hesitated to take up this offer to help them use the Olympics to attract some new members and help them and existing club members enjoy cycling more often.
