Round 6 of the BC BMX series saw over 350 riders descend into deepest, darkest Derbyshire and the wonderful Ringwood Park, for some of the fastest, gnarliest racing of the season so far. Chesterfield takes no prisoners, and it certainly claimed a few victims during practise on the Saturday, and some major crashes during racing on Sunday saw many more riders fall victim to the super fast track. The weather was hot, the racing hotter, so I'll get on with the report!

Cruisers: Tom Novis took the win ahead of Albie Hopes in 12 and under with Anthony Trower in 3.In 13-15 cruiser Bradley Minns made it happen again and took the race ahead of Ben Clarkson and Ryan Stack in 3. In 16-29 there was no Juan to cause controversy so Dan Hodge took the win ahead of Josh Hanlon and Kieron McAvoy. 30-39 Alan Hill fresh from his China trip took the win ahead of TJ Baldwin and off-road corner master (?!) supreme Dave Taylor in 3rd. Shout to soon to be Dad, Dom Bent, who rode great all day to take the 6 spot. Andy Restall couldn't get his gates right and settled for 8th in the main. Roy Sutton also took a chainring to the shoulder in the semi, but still rode the B to take 3rd - hardcore! In 40+ Cruiser Anthony Fisher took the win ahead of Jon Moore and talent team coach Jez Hayes in the 3 spot and my roadtrip buddy Mal G in the 4 spot.

6 and Under: The Brookes brothers from Preston struck gold at Chesterfield putting in an excellent performance and taking the top spots, Alex in one, and Ryan in two. T and J racing's Ryan O'Loughlin took 3. Local shredder Morgan Turner, representing Team Tuffs, made the main and finished a very commendable 7th in this challenging class!

Male 7 Years: Preston did the business again with Finn Hall taking the top spot. All those training sessions with the Flemdog must be paying off for this super fast club! Josh Coppins in the 2 spot and Kye Whyte representing Peckham in 3. Little Ted Dallywater was riding well all day to make the main but a crash saw him out - hope you heal quick little buddy!

Female 7-9 Years: Emily Green took the win this time around with Katurah Davidson in 2 and Blaine Ridge-Davis in the 3 spot and Melissa Foster representing Rotherham taking 4th. Lauren Stewart rocked up and took the B final win ahead of Profiles Darcie "Got a W plate" Taylor

Male 8 Years: Gideon Orena, again and again and again! Royston's Ethan Vernon rode great to take the 2 spot with Gunslinger Rockstars Lewis Hipkins showing true grit and coming through for the 3 spot. Good to see him smiling and enjoying himself on his bike, that's the Lewis I want to see from now on! Urbainair's Ethan Godden put in a great day's racing and took the 4 spot!

Male 9 years: Alan's BMX Kye Whyte did the business again and took the win in this sprightly class. Fresh from his China world plate obtaining experience, Harley Taylor put in a solid performance and took the 2 spot just ahead of Louis Gray-Blest and Luca Premoli.

Male 10 years: Great racing from this intense little class again, Paddy didn't seem to be as on the ball as he normally is, and it cost him in the main. Reece kept things together and took the win with Greenmachine's Tom Novis in 2. Paddy wasn't far behind and chased all the way to the line but had to settle for the 3 spot. Good to see Tyler Day making the main and riding through for 7th - those gate tips must've helped!

Female 10-12 years: Urbanair's Beth Campbell does it again, no injury this time around she took the win ahead of Shamika Shaw in the 2 spot and Crupi Flys Chloe Taylor, representing Sheffield in the 3 spot.

Male 11/12 years: One of the busiest classes this weekend, full of potential main makers all hungry for some action. Peckham's Quillan Isidore put together a fantastic days riding to make it happen in the semi and finally in the main. Relentless/Dialled Bikes Brad Spick was eager to improve on his ranking after his crash at Mansfield, he took the 2 spot with a great ride! Jack Clarke representing Alans BMX settled for 3 although he hunted all the way to the line.

Male 13/14 Years: With 37 riders in the class this weekend, it was the only one with Quarters. Jacob Roberts seemed a little off the pulse this weekend, allowing Jack Hall to take the main event by storm much to the pleasure of those from the North East! Adam Smith also representing the North East took the 3 spot with Jack Smallpiece taking the 4 spot. Cameron Howard had a bad start to his semi but took a risk to jump the big doubles which saw him move into a qualifying position into the main where he took 7th. A great race! Another big shout to Connor Swain making his first semi of the year and holding his own in the B final to take 5th - well done dude! Also a shout to Jordan Perry who is the most do-or-die kid I think I know, going big over the 2nd straight doubles in his quarter to get into a qualifying position, he ate dirt, hard. An exemplary performance from this up and comer.

Female 13-15 Years: Ashby Gibson put together another great day's racing to take the win ahead of SE's Bethan Hallett and Team Edwardes Nicola Spiers.

Male 15/16 years: Another busy class, plenty of heavy hitters in the mix and those making the semis should be very happy with themselves! In the main Jason Fay took the win ahead of a very fast Jonathon Hastings. William Elsey in the 3 spot followed by Tre whye in 4th. Dan McBride unclipped out of the gate and fought his way back to 6th from the back of the pack. Another great ride from Thomas Elvin also, he has a taste for these A mains now!

Junior Male: My money was on Brad for this race, he was looking super fast all day long but in the main event it wasn't to be. Dan Thorne taking the top spot and Luke "not on the talent team" Tamblyn representing Alans BMX in the 2 spot! Good to see Farran back on the bubble and making the main event to take 8th. Levi didn't have the best day's racing and didn't make the cut for the A main. The B main was carnage with Deakin taking out the top players over the big doubles. Billy "Lucky" Luckhurst was lined up to win that one too!

Junior Female: Alans BMX Charlotte Green rode a great lap and took the win in the main followed by Ria Goodman in the 2 spot and Katie Roberts in the 3 spot. Lauren Smith lead the final to the first turn but decided not to finish it went high, let them through and rode home for 7th - Oof!

Male 19+ 28 riders showed up to exchange elbows and blows in this busy class, Scott Waterhouse was back on top form to take the win ahead of the ever increasing in speed Tom Palmer in 2. Lee Baker had to settle for 3rd this time around with the Jet lagged Flem-tense and DC in the 4 and 5 spots. A great comeback ride form Andrew Tuffs who has that natural "Tuffy-ability" and fearless-ness, but a tangle up over the big doubles saw him out of the race along with Richardson.

Drama in the run off saw Ryan Yearsley get DQ'd for cutting a corner whilst leading (!) the race. A bad show. Daz Reidy was looking super fast but a big slam in his semi saw him out in the B final where he finished 2nd to Robbie Goodman. A get well soon shout to Tricker who tangled in the B final with Dan Hodge to end up with a broken collarbone - ouch!

Masters: TJ Baldwin was on it at Chesterfield, he had it down and knew where he was headed before the gate had even dropped. A diagonal first straight saw Jessop and Williams back off into turn one and TJ rode it all the way home. Russ Parsons making his national debut this year took the 2 spot ahead of Williams in 3 and Jessop in 4. I think I saw them hugging afterwards too. Wayne Foster fresh from a hangover and a 10 hour session took the 5 spot ahead of Ste Restall who must've been stoked making the main and finishing 6th no less! Fat Gaz followed for 7th stoked to be in the main! Big Daddy Paddy took a major slam in his semi over the big doubles, he was looking good all day too chilling and winning motos. He didn't race the B final, that's it for another year then.

Elite Men: Drama! Tuffy was angry again and he took his frustrations out in turn one wiping out Mapp and Whyte along the way! A spectacular display of determination, when Tuffs says one thing, you can be sure it'll happen. Bloomy was well ahead and rode home to 1st. Main 2 he pulled the same move, the pack backed off and Tuffy rode it clean to take the 2 spot behind Bloomfield. Main 3 Bloomfield held it out yet again with Strickland, Mapp and Daniel Whyte close behind. Bloomy took the overall with Laurence Mapp in 2, Whyte in 3rd, Strickland in 4 and Tuffs in 5. Gamble won the B main with a broken wrist after a slam going into turn 3 on the 3rd moto, tough-enuff.

A great event put on by Team Tuffs/Turner and the rest of Chesterfield club, it ran super smooth. The track rode great and the surrounding area looked superb too. Well done, it was an amazing weekend in Sunny Chessy, let's hope we are blessed with great weather for round 7 in Hartlepool. See you all there!
