Mountain Bike Cross Country Talent Coach- Scottish Cycling
Salary £20,000-£25,000 + Car

 

Scottish Cycling (SC) has a proven track record of supporting the development of mountain bike cross country athletes. The Mountain Bike Cross Country (MTB XC) Talent Coach will be responsible for developing Scotland’s future Olympic and Commonwealth athletes through a coaching & training based talent programme, with the aim of supporting riders onto British Cycling (BC) Olympic Programmes. A key part of the role will be in identifying new talent and leading on the implementation of highly professional coaching practices for this discipline, to support grass roots level development. A proportion of time will be allocated to supporting Junior and potential Commonwealth Games team athletes.

 

This is an extremely exciting opportunity within Scottish Cycling, at a time when Mountain Biking within the sport and country is forging forward. To be equipped for such a role, you must be able to demonstrate highly effective coaching practices (in Mountain Biking) suitable for developing athletes from a Regional Development level to podium. Organisational planning and management of athletes in a competitive environment are also key skills required for this role. Effective communication and the ability to motivate and support athletes and volunteers are fundamental.

 

This is a full time post of 37.5 hours per week, to be worked flexibly, and will include substantial travel, evening and weekend working. A vehicle will be provided.

 

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland & CRB check.
