Wanted: Cycle Training experts

British Cycling is looking to recruit Cycle Training experts to assist in the development of Bikeability and Trainer Course materials. British Cycling is currently developing a Cycle Trainer Education Course, which is being developed in line with the National Standard for Cycle Training.
Completion of the course will allow Cycle Trainers to deliver Bikeability training courses in schools, clubs or even to their colleagues, family and friends. Bikeability is the new cycling proficiency for the 21st century, aiming to teach participants the skills to ride safely and enjoyably on modern roads.
To assist with the development of the Bikeability course manuals British Cycling are looking to appoint authors, cycle trainer assessors and Cycle Training course tutors on a casual basis. Anyone who would like to be involved in this exciting project, and believes they have some or all of the knowledge and experience required should contact British Cycling.
Desirable Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience of delivering cycle training ideally-Level 2 and/or 3
- Good Written and/or Verbal Communication Skills evidenced through a Third Level Qualification
- Experience of working in an education environment
- Experience of developing session plans and/or course manuals for Cycle Training
- Knowledge of Sports Coaching
- Knowledge of Road Safety Awareness Training
Work will be conducted mainly by email and telephone. Candidates are required to work for approximately ten hours through August and September '08. If required, they should be able to travel to Manchester if required at a time that is convenient to the candidate. Expenses will be covered for any travel required. Pay for written work and reviewing sections will be agreed prior to starting work, based on the expected workload and experience.
