Torch Trophy Trust Award For Ken

Last Thursday (29th November) the Central Council of Physical Recreation held their Torch Trophy Trust presentation evening.  This recognises the efforts of sports volunteers from throughout the country. 

 

This year Ken Robertson was nominated by British Cycling to acknowledge his long standing participation in the sport and he was chosen by the CCPR to receive an award.

The awards were presented by HRH The Duke of Kent, after the official ceremony and speeches by the patrons of the Torch Trophy Trust, Bobby Charlton and Roger Uttley (who came sixth in the GHS 10 before his Rugby career really took hold!).  All of these honoured guests circulated and talked to all the prize winners after the presentation to make sure that they felt welcomed and appreciated. Ken was accompanied by his wife Ann and his sister Jane Brown.
