British Cycling and Anti-Doping
Introduction: This section of the website is designed to give all cyclists the basic information that they need about anti-doping by introducing the various bodies involved and providing links to the most up to date information.
January 2009 saw major world-wide changes in anti-doping. There are new anti-doping rules for British Cycling as well as an updated list of prohibited substances.
Rules for prohibited substances or methods used for medical purposes - known as Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) rules - have also been changed: for example there is no longer a shorter process for athletes using "Beta-2 agonists" by inhalation for asthma; and glucorticosteroids (by non-systematic routes) now require a declaration instead of a TUE. More information on the changes can be found in the Theraputic Use Exemption section.
