The youngsters from across Wales have been receiving intensive coaching at Newport Velodrome on the skills side of track racing together with tuition on the nature and etiquette of road riding. The week cumulates with the youngsters receiving 'coach led racing' behind a motorised Derny at Llandow racing circuit, prior to them competing in the Thursday evening South Wales Criterium event.
Barker Fourth at Irish Ras
Yanto Barker finished the FBD Insurance Ras in an excellent fourth position overall after a succession of top ten stage finishes. Barker also rounded out the tour with fourth in the points classification while Julian Winn had the misfortune to finish second in the mountains competition, having worn the leaders jersey since the tours hilliest stage. Winn almost made amends with second on the final criterium stage around Phoenix Park in Dublin, narrowly being beaten in the sprint by the host nation's Bill Moore. The remainder of the Wales Team finished the event in high spirits, having each been active throughout the weeks breakaway attempts. Full results from the event can be found HERE.
