Thomas Retains Senior Welsh Road Race Title
Geraint Thomas (Adidas/SIS) lived up to expectations as pre race favourite to retain his Welsh Road Race title. Thomas had joined a mid race breakaway of Will Wight (Will's Wheels), Chris Anelay (Triangle RT) and Dale Appleby (Fuji Bikes UK) before a further five riders swelled the breaks ranks, staying away until the final climb where the medal contenders rode clear. Thomas drove Wright and Anelay to the line where he comfortably won the uphill sprint.
