Cooke so Close to World Cup Win
Wales star female rider Nicole Cooke has narrowly missed victory in the third round of the Women's World Cup - the 'Primavera Rosa' in San Remo. Cooke led home the bunch sprint after winner Trixi Worrack slipped off the front in the finishing run. Cooke proved her strength by beating Worracks team-mates to the line, who were setting up their team leader for victory. Luckwell Victorious at Legstretchers
Ben Luckwell (Maestro/Fircroft Hotel) proved victorious in one of Wales traditional early season road events - the Legstretchers Memorial to Betty Pharoah.Luckwell led home Nick Hodgeson (Severn Road Club) and Wales own development rider Dale Appleby (Acme Wheelers). In the supporting 3/4/W/V/J event it was another rider returning to racing who claimed victory, where Lewys Hobbs (Merlin) claimed victory ahead of Matt Rowe (Cardiff Ajax) and Rhys Lloyd (Port Talbot Wheelers).
