Paralympic Cycling coming to Newport

International Paralympic Cycling is coming to Newport on Wednesday 3rd May, the first event of its kind at the Wales National Velodrome. 

The Disability Grand Prix of Wales will see the stars of the Athens Paralympic Games competing here in Wales, with squads now confirmed from top Nations including Team GB and Australia, an exciting evening of racing is in store. 

With a full race schedule of twenty different race events starting at 5pm this is sure to be a spectacle for all to see. Please come along and cheer on the British riders as they take on the rest of the World.

Welsh BMX racing to be shown on TV this Monday

Footage from the BMX racing at Brynbach park last weekend will be shown on a new Welsh language programme "Stamina" on S4C on Monday 27th March at 4.30 p.m.

Dragon Downhill racing this weekend

Britain's best elite DH riders will be in Wales this weekend for the first Dragon DH race at Rheola.  Entry is full with over 300 riders and 15 of the world's best cyclists will be in action.  For more details on this event please click HERE>>>

 

Winter Track League postponed

Regretfully, due to industrial action by the staff at Newport City Council the velodrome will be closed on Tuesday 28th March.  Therefore, the final evening's buffet and prize presentations of the Winter Track League will now take place on Tuesday 11th April

Welsh Sports Association Awards - get your cycling nominations in!

The Welsh Sports Association is inviting nominations for two prestigious awards which seek to recognise the contribution of volunteers in sport, namely "Administrator of the year" and the "Unsung hero". 

The Administrator of the year is presented to someone whose unstinting efforts as an administrator within sport makes a telling contribution. It is awarded to someone who regularly gives up a large part of their life for the love of their sport and whose work is vital to their organisation. 

The Unsung hero award acknowledges the tireless efforts of one volunteer within Welsh sport, and is awarded to someone who demonstrates a selfless passion and determination for their sport. It can be an official, coach, parent helper or anyone else!!  Nomination forms can be easily downloaded from the WSA web site:  or from their offices on 02920 649861.  Lets get some cycling volunteers nominated!!
