Modern Sport Weekend Update - Welsh Cycling Members to be Consulted
The board of Welsh Cycling spent last weekend debating the long term future of the sport of cycling in Wales. The board discussed at length significant policy issues to ensure the creation of a strong and effective governance model for the Welsh Cycling Union, to maintain and improve competitive and high performance cycling, and to ensure the long term development of the sport in Wales. The board have committed to engage in a process of communication and consultation with its key stakeholders across Wales, including clubs, members, athletes and coaches. Further details regarding meetings with all of these groups, and the subsequent EGM will be posted on this website in due course.
Darren Tudor Moves to British Cycling
As reported last week, Darren Tudor has been appointed to the position of British National Junior Coach. More details on Darren's appointment and his role with British Cycling can be found HERE (External Link)
Thomas to Ride Sydney World Cup Team Pursuit
Welsh Star Geraint Thomas will shortly be en route to Sydney to compete in the Track World Cup Final as part of the Great Britain Senior Pursuit squad. Thomas is also likely to take part in the Madison after his recent exploits with Olympic Champion Bradley Wiggins at the Manchester Revolutions, and has high hopes of another podium position to follow the Silver medal earned at the Moscow Round Two Scratch event. New Cycling Club for Meirionydd
The newly formed Dolgellau Cycling Club will be running a series of events and rides including Get Set skills courses for children in the near future. New members, young or old, experienced or novice, are more than welcome to join. For further details please contact Claire Jones on 01341 422 308
