Wales youngsters returned some excellent podium results at Revolution 8 in Manchester Velodrome this weekend. Highlight of the evening went to Katie Curtis who broke away with Alex Greenfield and Rachel Davies (Cardiff Ajax) to dominate the Future Stars Girls Devil, while Greenfield proved the most consistent finisher of the event with silver in the Girls One Mile Dash and 4km Scratch where Jessica Allen put in a ferocious attack with three laps to go, but had the misfortune to be caught on the last corner by the bunch to wind up fourth. Elliw Mostyn had a highlight of fourth in the One Mile Dash i her second Revolution appearance. Matt Rowe claimed second in the Future Stars 5km Scratch event and third in both the One Mile Dash and Devil, before teaming up with Andy Tennant of the West Midlands Team to contest the early rounds of the Senior Madison for experience. Matt's younger brother Luke and Rhys Lloyd both rode consistently to top ten finishes in all the Future Stars boys events. Wales Junior Team in Belgium Excursion
A selection of Welsh Juniors have been chosen to compete in the 'Stad tot Stad' Junior Classic this weekend, near Ichtegem in Belgium. The event includes over 2.5 miles of cobbles and is typically an indication of how the Junior Paris-Roubaix will be contested next month. The team comprises Ross Sander, Matt Rowe, Rob Blunden and Anthony O'Boyle in his first foreign racing trip, with the team being taken by Assistant National Coach Stuart MacDonald.
