Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Cycling
The Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Cycling (L1CCC) is the new entry-level award into the British Cycling Coach Education Programme, aimed at people new to coaching and cycling. This new qualification provides you with an introduction to the principles of safe, ethical and effective management and coaching of cycling sessions. The certificate qualifies you to independently prepare for, deliver and review pre-prepared coaching sessions to groups of adults or children. The course covers all of the basics of cycle coaching and qualifies coaches to deliver British Cycling Go-Ride Gears 1 and 2 activities.

Level 2 Coaching Cycling Award
The Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Cycling (L2CCC) is aimed at people new to coaching and/or cycling. The knowledge gained from this qualification will allow you to develop an understanding of safe, ethical and effective cycling coaching. Please be aware that we will accept the first 16 candidates to each course who return the application complete with payment - if you require support in applying for grant aid to cover the cost of your course then please contact Ian Jenkins (ian.jenkins@welshcycling.co.uk) for advice..
You will be required to provide evidence of a minimum 'Appointed Persons' first aid certificate, the cost for which may need to be included in any funding application, and please be aware that cost for the course is £395.00 per candidate.
Level 2 Track Coaching Award add on
The Level 2 Track Coaching Award is aimed at coaches new to the track environment, as well as current track coaches who want to develop their existing knowledge and skills. The knowledge gained from this award will allow you to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of safe, ethical and effective track sessions.
The award will also give you all the knowledge and information you need to progress riders from their first session on a track up to their first competition. This award is the minimum requirement for the delivery of Go-Ride Track Gears 5 and 6.

The Level 2 Mountain Bike Coaching Award is aimed at coaches new to the mountain bike environment, as well as current mountain bike coaches who want to develop their existing knowledge and skills. The knowledge gained from this award will allow you to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of safe and effective mountain bike sessions. The award will also give you all the knowledge and information you need to progress riders from their first session to their first competition. This award is the minimum requirement for the delivery of Go-Ride Mountain Bike Gears 5 and 6.

Activity Coach Award For Teachers (ACAT)
What are the benefits of becoming a Cycling Teacher?
The ACAT course is an ideal introduction to coaching cycling in schools for teachers.
- Comprehensive resources to support the delivery of cycling coaching sessions.
- Go-Ride Gears 1 to 4 workbooks with 55 different cycling activities (mapped to the National Curriculum Key Stage 2 and 3), ideal for delivery on playing fields, tennis courts, or larger gyms.
- A certificate of attendance
After completing the ACAT course you can choose to upgrade to the Level 2 Coaching Award (Activity Coach) by completing a period of assessment. Becoming a Level 2 Activity Coach provides all the benefits of British Cycling Coach Licensing including £5 million professional indemnity insurance, technical support and a range of other training opportunities.
