"Welsh Cycling, the National Governing Body for the sport in Wales, have worked closely with Gwent Police for a number of years to provide trained cycle marshals throughout Wales. Training courses have been run in South and North Wales earlier this year. These marshals have powers under the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme to stop and direct traffic and pedestrians. The aim of this scheme is to enhance the safety of cycle events and other road users who encounter such events on the roads of Wales. Any organiser who requires the services of such marshals should contact Welsh Cycling."
