Would your club benefit from a grant of up to £1500 that encourages more people to be more active, more often or raises the standard of existing activities? If so then a Community Chest Grant could be just the thing your club needs.

Community Chest Grants are in partnership between Sport Wales and each of the 22 Local Authorities in Wales. The aim is very simple in that the grant allows clubs to pay for the coaching and equipment costs which provide the biggest barriers for people accessing our sport. There are 4 rounds of funding per authority each year so there is plenty of opportunities to apply.

Over the years a huge number of our clubs have used the grant to train up coaches, train first aiders, Purchase bikes and equipment such as Turbo trainers to enable club sessions to continue throughout the year as well as costs to help marketing.

Welsh Cycling’s Development officers are on hand to assist clubs to firstly put a Development plan in place and to complete the funding application. There are a number of other local funding sources available so you’re best starting point will be to contact your relevant officer for more information and support.
