Newport Dig It Landscapes Cycle Speedway Club entertained Swindon Robins at Newports International Sports Village in the South and South Wales League fixture, which resulted in a comfortable 100 points to 77 win for the Welsh team.

Both teams gave their all on a very hot day, with the visitors having the star man on show, former World Veterans Champion Steve Harris who sped to an impressive 6 ride maximum, but his team struggled to keep up with the strong Newport 8. Youngsters Adam Bennett and Dan Bock impressing with fine displays.
