Lewis Oliva to compete at UCI Track World Cup Aguascalientes

Welsh Cycling confirms Lewis Oliva will compete for Team USN at the second round of the 2013/14 UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Aguascalientes, Mexico from 5 – 7 December.

Team USN secured their first medal of the 2013/14 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Series in Manchester, as Jon Mould secured bronze in the Scratch Race.

Monmouth's Lewis Oliva earned bronze in the Keirin at the British National Track Cycling Championships in September and competed for Team USN in the Revolution Series and UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Manchester.

Four Welsh athletes will also travel to Mexico to represent Great Britain as part of a 16 strong squad. Sam Harrison, Owain Doull, Becky James and Elinor Barker will compete at the second Track World Cup as Great Britain aim to earn as many qualifying points for the world championships.

Team USN is part of Welsh Cycling’s Performance Programme, and aims to prepare and develop Wales’ track cyclists to compete at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow maximising their potential to succeed on the world stage.
