Clubs and members are being invited to consult with Welsh Cycling on a new and exciting Strategy document for the governing body, that will shape the future of cycling in Wales.

The proposed Strategy, 'Inspiring Wales to Cycle', has been developed in response to findings from the Welsh Cycling Independent and Development Reviews, conducted earlier this year in partnership with Sport Structures. A summary of the Review is available to download.

The Strategy will now outline how Welsh Cycling will inspire more people to cycle in the next seven years, and shape its direction in delivering the needs of cycling in Wales through to 2020.

It includes plans and proposals to develop cycling for women and children, as well as supporting volunteers in the sport.

Welsh Cycling is seeking views and opinions from clubs to inform this important piece of work. Clubs are invited to read a copy of the proposed document and complete a short survey form which form part of the consultation process.

In addition, Welsh Cycling members are invited to attend regional workshops, designed to capture experiences and understand peoples’ and organisations’ aspirations for cycling for the future.

Workshops are taking place in:

South Wales: Newport Velodrome, Newport | Monday, 12 August | 6-8pm.

North Wales: Glasdir, Llanwrst, Conwy | Thursday, 15 August | 6-8pm.

West Wales: Carmarthen, Quinns RFC | Wednesday, 21 August | 6-8pm.
